FAFSA Information
The FAFSA is FREE!!! DO NOT pay any money for anyone to do this for you. There are many scams out there.
FAFSA Website: https://fafsa.ed.gov/ Step One: You will need to register for an FSA ID number before you can do anything. DO THIS ASAP! This will take a couple days to e-mail you your ID to use to sign the FAFSA. You may do this before October 1. Step Two: Beginning October 1, seniors (and their parents) may fill out their FAFSA online using the previous years' tax information. DO THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Kentucky pays money on a first-come-first-served basis. Once the pool of money for a grant is gone, it is gone. The sooner you register, the closer you are to the 'front of the line' for all of the grants you are eligible for. Step Three: Beginning January 1, confirm and finalize all documents using current tax information (if required). Step Four: Receive your Expected Family Contribution and Award Information Letter and make an informed decision about which aid package is best for you. Consult high school counselors or college financial aid offices for assistance!
